Hi..Mr Phd..I need ur help..

I am confusing now that I like macroeconomics..I like it very much how the policy can change the situation about economics..

This is a good thing to learn for me..I want to continue it in Phd..
but the problem is my weak in mathematics..can I cope that subject in Phd if I am weak in mathematics..what is the requirement for it??can I only focusing in macroeconomics in my Phd??I consider the good university in USA..

Hi Man,

Thanks for your post. I am sorry, for replying late...

Math is quite important, but don't worry. You can learn it. The first you need to do is go for quite quantitative masters. Let's say you can go to NYU for their MA Econ program. I know a number of people who than got to prestigous PhD programs (i.e. Stanford). You need just to work hard.

Another mean of proving that you have good maths is taking GRE Maths. It is really pretty use full. You will find it quite rewarding.

Hi, Mr. PhD,

I'll go to NYU for MA Econ this year, and I'm interested in Microeconomics. Does the MA Econ program of NYU fit me ?

BTW, I'll take my CFA L3 exam this June.

NYU is a great place. If you are interested in Microeconomics you can take instead of MA Micro, PhD Micro. I know you can take advanced courses if you want.
